I am an Associate Professor of Sociology at Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, FL. My main areas of research lie in the sociology of gender, sexualities, aging and the life course, and health. My research uses mixed methods and examines how dating and sexual intimacy vary and unfold across the life course. Much of my other research examines the nature and consequences of prejudice and discrimination against LGBTQ individuals. In addition, I recently began a new project in the area of LGBTQ aging. Some of my research can be found in the American Sociological Review, Social Forces, The Sociological Quarterly, Sociological Forum, Journal of Aging Studies, Sexualities, Emerging Trends, and the Archives of Sexual Behavior.
